Food analysis

You can reach the delivery department for examinations as follows:

Monday to Friday 7:00 - 16:00

Saturday 8:30 - 11:00

Allergens:

Some foods and additives can trigger allergic reactions in the consumer. In individual cases, these reactions can lead to serious health problems or even life-threatening character.

Our investigations comply with the requirements of the relevant EU regulation and cover all commercial allergens.

GMOs:

Since 2004, according to the EU regulation, a labeling obligation applies to food packaging for genetically modified organisms. By means of PCR analysis (polymerase chain reaction), we quickly and reliably detect the presence and quantity of any GMOs.

Contaminants:

According to Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006, foodstuffs have maximum levels of certain undesirable components of the products. The more well-known of these substances are, for example, acylamide, dioxins or heavy metals. We offer a wide range of tests for numerous contaminants.

Microbiology:

SL Stanlab offers comprehensive analysis of classical food-relevant and pathogenic germs, such as Enterobacteriaceae, coliform bacteria, enterococci / faecal streptococci, Clostridium perfringens, Campylobacter, Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella, Staphylococcus aureus and many others.

Minerals:

Studies on the presence and quantification of minerals (e.g., calcium, sodium) and trace elements (e.g., iron, fluorine, iodine) in your products.

Nutritional information:

From 13.12.2016, nutritional information according to Regulation (EU) 1169/2011) is required. Then the following quantities must be found on the product packaging: energy (kcal.), fat, carbohydrates with sugar, protein and salt. We determine for you these shares in your products.

Residues:

Residues are the residual amounts of substances that are deliberately used in agriculture or in the production of food, such as pesticides or animal medicines.

Sensory examinations:

Using standardized, sensory examinations, the quality of your product is determined according to the following parameters: appearance (shape and color), texture and texture, smell and taste.

Radiation Measurement:

It may be necessary to determine the radioactivity of food. Background of these analyzes is the reactor accident in Chernobyl in 1986 and the accident in Fukushima 2011. In the course of the subsequent regulations by the legislators, appropriate tests of food can be ordered for any possible adverse effects on the environment due to radioactive radiation.

Animal species:

Since the so-called horsemeat scandal, animal species identification in food has been a particular focus. Using real-time PCR, we can determine the presence of certain species (e.g. beef, pork, turkey, chicken) in products.

Intolerances:

In addition to allergens, other substances in humans can lead to intolerance reactions. By appropriate analysis methods we determine the occurrence of e.g. gluten, lactose or sulfite.

Vitamins:

Vitamins are important biocatalysts and necessary for a variety of metabolic processes. Many food manufacturers therefore enrich their products with vitamins. With modern analytics we determine all vitamins from A to K.

Drinking water:

... is subject to extensive microbiological and chemical quality controls based on the Drinking Water Ordinance. For the sampling, analysis and evaluation of drinking water, SL Stanlab offers a comprehensive service.

Histology:

By means of histological examinations, in the case of foods of animal origin, e.g. the following examinations were performed: tissue type (e.g., muscle or mucosal tissue), bone particles and more.

Intestinal bacteriology:

SL Stanlab carries out a special chair analysis to support diagnostics for therapists (doctors and naturopaths). Employees of food production should also be examined if necessary if infestation by pathogens endangers product safety.

Declaration:

All foods are subject to the LMKV (Food Labeling Regulation). If you want to be sure that your product contains exactly what is on the packaging then you should have it checked for these parameters at regular intervals.
